Manfaat Kesehatan dengan Sinar Matahari

RSI BANJARNEGARA - Sudah lama kita diberitahu untuk berhati-hati terhadap sinar matahari dan melindungi diri kita dari dampak sinar matahari pada kulit kita. Kebenarannya mungkin tidak seburuk dan sesederhana itu. Sinar matahari memberi manfaat yang luar biasa asal tidak berlebihan.

Jika paparan sinar matahari sedang, manfaatnya lebih banyak daripada bahayanya. Pertama-tama sinar matahari memiliki efek yang baik pada kesehatan mental baik karena cahaya tampak maupun efek pemanasan.

Sinar UVA di bawah sinar matahari merangsang kulit untuk memproduksi vitamin D. Vitamin ini diperlukan untuk komposisi normal, pertumbuhan, dan regenerasi jaringan tulang. Dengan rendahnya kadar vitamin D dalam tubuh, tulang cenderung kehilangan kalsium dan menjadi lebih tipis dan lebih lemah.

Temuan baru menunjukkan bahwa banyak orang tidak mendapatkan cukup vitamin ini melalui makanan atau tidak cukup menyerap dari usus, dan membutuhkan stimulasi ini untuk mendapatkan kadar vitamin D yang cukup.

Temuan baru juga menunjukkan bahwa sinar matahari dalam jumlah sedang tidak mendorong terjadinya kanker kulit. Sebaliknya, dalam jumlah sedang, paparan sinar matahari tampaknya membantu mencegah beberapa jenis kanker, terutama kanker payudara, kanker usus besar, dan kanker prostat.

Manfaat yang didapatkan kebanyakan orang saat mandi matahari adalah efek kecoklatannya. Efek ini berasal dari sinar UVA yang merangsang melanosit di kulit untuk menghasilkan lebih banyak pigmen coklat - melanin.

Jumlah melanin yang meningkat akan melindungi kulit dari bahaya sinar matahari, dan membuat Anda mentolerir sinar matahari dalam jumlah yang lebih besar sebelum efek berbahaya terjadi. Sinar matahari juga merangsang lapisan atas kulit untuk tumbuh lebih tebal, dan ini membuat kulit lebih kuat dari kerusakan. Selama penebalan ini sedang, penebalannya adalah efek yang baik. (*)
