Belajar Manfaat dan Kegunaan Minyak Jagung

RSI BANJARNEGARA - Untuk diketahui, minyak jagung digunakan di seluruh dunia di rumah dan restoran untuk keperluan memasak. Pada tahun 1898, minyak diekstrak dari jagung untuk digunakan memasak. Minyak ini dikenal sebagai mazoil. Karena banyak kegunaan dan manfaat dari penggunaan minyak goreng ini, minyak ini banyak digunakan di sebagian besar rumah dan restoran untuk memasak semua jenis makanan.


Beberapa manfaat paling penting dari penggunaan minyak jagung adalah sebagai berikut.

Kaya Vitamin E: Salah satu manfaat terpenting dari minyak goreng ini adalah adanya vitamin E. Ia bertindak sebagai anti-oksidan dalam tubuh dan melindungi tubuh dari radikal bebas.

Lemak tak jenuh ganda: Berbeda dengan minyak goreng lainnya, mengandung persentase besar minyak tak jenuh ganda yang cukup sehat untuk jantung. Ini membantu mengurangi kolesterol dan terbukti bermanfaat bagi tubuh.

Memasak: Minyak jagung dapat digunakan dengan aman untuk memasak dengan api besar karena memiliki titik asap yang tinggi. Penting untuk memilih minyak goreng dengan titik asap tinggi saat menggoreng dan memanggang karena minyak dengan titik asap rendah dapat terurai dan membentuk radikal bebas saat terlalu panas.

Murah: Dibandingkan dengan minyak zaitun dan minyak goreng lainnya, harganya relatif lebih murah. Selain itu, karena harganya yang cukup murah, orang jarang menggunakannya kembali karena minyak bekas dapat merugikan kesehatan.

Beberapa Kegunaan Penting Minyak Jagung:

Memasak: Minyak jagung terutama digunakan untuk keperluan memasak. Karena memiliki titik asap yang tinggi, digunakan untuk menggoreng makanan di atas 450 derajat Fahrenheit. Bisa digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan memasak lainnya karena dianggap sehat dan aman.

Digunakan pada Baja: Selain untuk keperluan memasak, digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan. Dapat digunakan pada stainless steel agar tampak mengkilap dan baru.

Margarin: Ini juga merupakan bahan utama di sebagian besar jenis margarin karena mengandung rasa pedas dan ringan.

Sabun: Minyak goreng ini juga digunakan untuk membuat berbagai jenis sabun.

Tekstil: Selain kegunaan ini, juga digunakan untuk memproduksi tekstil.

Bio-Diesel: Dengan diperkenalkannya perkembangan teknologi, minyak goreng ini juga digunakan untuk pembuatan biodiesel karena dianggap cukup bermanfaat.


Perawatan Minyak: Ini juga digunakan untuk perawatan minyak panas karena membuat rambut halus dan lembut. Dapat dipijat pada rambut untuk hasil terbaik.

Bumbui wajan besi tuang: Penggunaan penting lainnya dari minyak goreng ini adalah bumbu wajan besi tuang. Setetes minyak dioleskan di dalam panci untuk pemeliharaannya. Kemudian dapat ditutup dengan handuk kertas.

Meski ada banyak manfaat dan kegunaan minyak jagung, hal itu dikaitkan dengan sejumlah risiko kesehatan. Penggunaan minyak goreng ini secara berlebihan dapat menyebabkan kanker payudara pada wanita dan kanker prostat pada pria. Karena minyak goreng ini mengandung asam lemak tak jenuh ganda Omega-6 dalam jumlah tinggi, sebaiknya digunakan hanya dalam jumlah sedang. (*)
